I am showing my age by starting off that I have several saved voicemails on my cell phone. Most of them are non-descript. A call from my father to give him a call back. Or a call from my Titi Vida “just to say hello and I love you.” These cherished family members are no […]

We stand on the shoulders of those who risked their lives at Stonewall. The most disenfranchised members of our community gave voice in protest and the resulting cry for justice marks the start of our civil rights movement. A movement as vital and necessary today as it ever has been. Our fundamental human rights remain […]

When I first joined the Board of Pride Live in 2011 (!) I had little true understanding of what it meant to be queer but endless empathy for how it felt to be different. In the years since the community has inspired me - it's filled with artists and visionaries who are brave and authentic. […]

I love getting to see first-hand how Stonewall connects people across generations and communities. So many people come here and see their experiences and struggles reflected in the story of Stonewall, and that is a beautiful thing to witness.

Why my involvement with and support of Pride Live and the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center is so important tome is best captured by the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Working at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center has been such a fulfilling experience. What I love most is listening to stories that visitors share, as well as working alongside our amazing team to create a safe space for people to learn and be themselves.

The thing I love most is the unexpected connections. They come out of nowhere, and all of a sudden I learn the most heartfelt or hilarious story of someone’s life and/or the history of our community I wouldn’t be able to learn anywhere else.

It’s incredible to think that we opened the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center on the 55th anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion! I'm still amazed—and humbled—by the incredible responses we've received from people all over the world. This is undoubtedly one of the most significant accomplishments of my career. Sharing this experience with Diana makes it […]

I wake up every morning and have to reconvince myself that I get to do what I love every single day at a company whose fundamental mission is to advance liberation and access to community. As Pride Live’s first full-time hire, I’ve had the distinguished honor of seeing this space transform to embrace its rich […]
