I wake up every morning and have to reconvince myself that I get to do what I love every single day at a company whose fundamental mission is to advance liberation and access to community. As Pride Live’s first full-time hire, I’ve had the distinguished honor of seeing this space transform to embrace its rich tapestry of LGBTQIA+ history and honor the trailblazers of yesterday and tomorrow. Though there is never a mundane item on my to-do list, by far my favorite part of the job is leading guided tours, especially for young people. Being able to witness a group of students realize themselves in Stonewall’s legacy never fails to bring a tear to my eye. It further reiterates that preservation and education create access to one’s liberation!
